The free technology foundation aims to create awareness among public to freely share and distribute any technology developed.

Objectives

• Promoting the concept of free and open technologies.
• Providing guidance and possible resource materials based on Free and Open Technologies to improve and enhance the quality of education.
• To provide inexpensive and effective computing platforms to the poorer sections of the public.

Activities

• To create an awareness, knowledge level and positive image about free / open technologies and to encourage the usage of the same.
• To organize conferences, symposia, seminars and training programmes in free / open technology platform for the public with the use of free software / hardware’s.
• To publish books, monographs, bulletins, proceedings of conferences and journals on both at national and international levels.
• Collaborate with institutions, industries and professional bodies for promoting free / open technology platform at both national and international levels.
• To institute awards/prizes for outstanding contributions and innovations in promoting / usage / development / quality of free technologies.
• To take necessary steps for the development of teaching and research by introducing new concepts in teaching and learning methodology and providing possible resource materials for the same.
• To promote the use of free / open source software / hardware in the industry and to provide the necessary consultancy, training and support for the same.
• To participate in the world wide collaborative development and mobilization of funds to support the free / open technology movement directly and indirectly.
• To promote the free availability of inventions and discoveries to benefit humanity as a whole.
• To collaborate with industries in developing new and innovative computing solutions based on / for free /open technology platform.
• To promote / introduce certification programs for improving and standardizing education of Free / Open Software / Hardware
